Creative monitoring, evaluation and learning
We can help you make evaluation easy and enjoyable!

We support organisations to understand what difference their work is making and what they can learn from it to continually evolve and improve. We use creative, accessible and often immersive approaches to capture people’s experiences, uncover less-heard voices and turn insight into useful learning.
We don’t just want to hear about your work from our desks or after its happened, we want to be part of it! Whether that means joining a tree-planting session, getting involved in arts and crafts, visiting schools, taking part in Mixed Ability sports, or spending time at your meetings and events, we get to know your work, your people, your places and spaces and the context you’re working in.
  • IMAS - We evaluate the impact of IMAS’ activities on diverse groups and feed learning back into the organisation, helping them understand what is working and how they can continue to develop in ways that maximise the benefits of Mixed Ability sport
  • Manningham Ideas Mill - We’re spending time in the Mill, listening to the people involved (drinking the delicious coffee!) and exploring how this exciting project is evolving — the impacts it is creating, as well as the challenges and opportunities emerging along the way. We regularly feed this learning back to the project team in a range of ways, giving them useful insight they can draw on to shape their next steps.
Do you need a more traditional approach?
Our favourite work is creative and immersive, but we’re also highly skilled and passionate about more traditional approaches to evaluation. We know it isn’t always possible to bring a learning partner in from the beginning. If you’ve recently finished a project and need help understanding its impact, or you already have data that needs analysing, we can help with that too. We’ll still look for ways to make the process creative, accessible and genuinely useful and we’ll go beyond just reporting outcomes to explore what you’ve learned, what worked, what could be done differently and what this might mean for the future. Wherever possible, we also aim to build your confidence and capacity to reflect, learn and evaluate your own work.
  • Positive Youth Foundation (PYF) - We supported PYF with the final evaluation of their five-year, National Lottery-funded Healthy Futures programme. We ensured young people’s voices were heard and reflected in the final report through fun, engaging focus groups with Healthy Futures participants in a place they felt comfortable. And we embedded these views within the analysis of five years of programme data to build a clear picture of the impact of PYF’s approach for young people, as well as its wider contribution to Coventry’s public health ambitions as a Marmot City.
  • Morecambe Bay Partnership (MBP) - We analysed a lovely large assortment of survey and community engagement data collected by MBP to help them understand what matters to people across Morecambe Bay. We then facilitated a workshop to explore the findings with key stakeholders to help inform their What’s Your View? Imagine Morecambe Bay 2050 visioning initiative, fore fronting community voices and diverse perspectives for future planning.

We have also supported lots of other fantastic organisations with creative monitoring, evaluation and learning including:
Energy Neighbours Kirklees | Mind the Gap | Love Leeds Parks | Business for Good West Yorkshire | UnLtd | Community Savers and CLASS
