Energy Neighbours
Nifty bring expertise in research, evaluation, engagement and activism to co-design and co-develop reflective, participatory research in order to create meaningful change.
We are delighted to be working with TSL Kirklees and partners as the evaluation partner on the Energy Neighbours project. It’s great to be involved from an early stage in project delivery so that learning can be embedded throughout to strengthen project outcomes.
The Energy Neighbours’ project focus on capacity building to empower local people to take individual and collective climate action and reduce fuel poverty is really exciting for us. At Nifty, we emphasise accessibility, equity and inclusion in all we do, and our values of kindness, inclusivity, curiosity and generous learning underpin our work, so it’s great to be able to bring our experiences to evaluate a project so clearly aligned with our values.
So far, we have supported the Energy Neighbours team and partners to reflect on what’s changing as result of their approach. We co-designed and facilitated a How’s it Going forum in May and learned a great deal about what’s important to those involved. We’ve used one of our favourite appreciative inquiry methods for this research – head, heart, bin, bag.
We are really looking forward to co-facilitating the next How’s it Going forum in September, and to participating in the Energy Neighbours conference in November. As we learn more about the work that’s already underway and explore project impacts for the participants, we’re enjoying reflecting on these and sharing learning in ways that help support project delivery.
