Leeds Trinity University

Leeds Trinity University has ambitious sustainability commitments throughout all its strategic pillars, representing its clear intention to be a responsible, civic and inclusive institution.

Together with Think EJ, we are delighted to be working with the Director of Sustainability at LTU to support her in co-creating an inclusive and holistic sustainability strategy and delivery plans.  In phase one of this project (Spring and Summer 2024), we used participatory approaches to engage with and listen to senior leaders, staff, student co-creation panel, and the wider university community to understand their motivations and opportunities to engage, as well as barriers and challenges in delivering sustainability.

We are now moving into stage two which will involve co-producing the strategy to align with and integrate wider strategic priorities especially those relating to diversity and inclusion and social justice. An integral part of this will be to better understand staff and leadership teams’ knowledge, skills, and capacity around sustainability to support delivery of sustainability goals.  Outputs from this phase will include a co-produced sustainability strategy with embedded delivery plans and an outline of a potential next phase aimed at building staff and leadership skills and capacities around embedding sustainability.

THE PEOPLE WE WORK WITH SAY:

‘Claire’s knowledge of the University, sustainability, research and learning techniques was invaluable for the delivery of this successful project. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with her through this project and look forward to the roll out and next phase where we are hoping to collaborate once again.' Katie McGuire, Deputy Director of Sustainability Services.
