Kitty Kaur
Nifty Intern
Kitty is a graduate in Leeds after studying Sociology and Criminology. She has recently been learning about becoming more sustainable and is particularly intrigued around the discourse of how different subcultures within society may access these ideas and implement even the smallest of changes. As people who are prone to suffer more social injustices are usually less likely to be in an environment where this is necessary to learn about. Thus, resulting in certain groups of individuals being less able to get informed about the notion of sustainability, for several reasons. Her focus surrounding this is finding new initiatives and to facilitate a wider range of people to be able to access resources and get educated.. Her dissertation was based around Feminism, in which she conducted qualitative interviews to find out how and why different ethnicities of people had dissimilar experiences of gender inequalities, as Feminism is another passion of hers. She will soon be going on a trip to Belgium, after completing a course to become carbon literate to explore these ideologies more.
She is currently doing an internship with Nifty sustainability to broaden her knowledge and gain valuable work experience in Leeds. She is very excited to acquire new skills and get involved!
