University of Leeds - Building sustainability knowledge and capacity

Picture
Working closely with the Sustainability Service at the University of Leeds, this project supports the University's strategic commitment to embed sustainability across the institution by building staff knowledge and capacity across teaching and learning, research, innovation and operations. Our reflective approach to research, consultancy and co-creation of outcomes on this project has been valuable to the University.  The project involved:
  • Conducting a large scale consultation with staff using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods including in-depth interviews, transect walks, focus groups and surveys
  • Co-creating a strategic sustainability Knowledge & Capacity (K&C) Framework
  • Designing and developing an extensive programme of work to build sustainability K&C for all staff
  • Co-designing and delivering a quarterly Management Essentials programme designed to engage, and support managers and senior leaders from across teaching and learning, research and operational teams.
The longer term outcomes from this work are still integral to the University's approach to embedding leadership in sustainability across teaching and learning, research and operational teams.

THE PEOPLE WE WORK WITH SAY:

‘Claire’s knowledge of the University, sustainability, research and learning techniques was invaluable for the delivery of this successful project. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with her through this project and look forward to the roll out and next phase where we are hoping to collaborate again.'
