Sop Satchwell
Nifty Associate

Sop is a researcher and activist with an Master's degree in Climate Change and Environmental Policy. Her studies culminated with research into how Climate activists perceive, discuss and enact justice in their practice. Since graduating, she's worked to co-ordinate the Climate Equities Project with Leeds Tidal, seeking to redefine climate action to make it more relevant and meaningful for all communities and cultural contexts. She's also supported the University of Leeds' School of Earth and Environment in a project to better support students to cope with the emotional challenges brought on from studying sustainability. Her main area of focus is considering how initiatives seeking to encourage sustainability can go beyond environmental concerns to actively dismantle inequalities in society. Her activism covers migrant justice, lgbtq+ justice, feminism and anti-racism - all components of real climate justice.
Sop is supporting on Nifty's work with Midlands Engine.
